A lot more fun than Tiger, probably!
When GottaGoGolf Magazine asked readers -- most of them women ages 25 and up -- whom they'd invite to play in their fantasy foursome, only one of them included Tiger Woods in her group. And that was only because she was donating her fantasy to her husband (who would also want to play with Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer).
Many of the answers are published in GottaGoGolf's October issue, and there's always room for more here or on GottaGoGolf's Facebook page. The rest of the readers mostly favored Fred Couples, Phil Mickelson and Juli Inkster. Young LPGA stars Michelle Wie and Paula Creamer had some nods, and so did Annika Sorenstam, Lorena Ochoa and Nancy Lopez.
Some readers included celebrities they weren't sure played golf -- including Ellen Degeneres, Garth Brooks and Colin Firth. And of course many couldn't step far enough into fantasyland to leave out their loved ones.
Now that I think about it, I'd like to play with Lorena Ochoa and Yani Tseng, two of the most personable and warm superstars I've ever met. They both like to laugh, have amazing skills, and would be great company for the day. But for the fourth, I'd want to bring along one of my pals from the Sharp Park Business Women's Golf Association. The big hitters could play from the back tees and my friend could keep me company at the forward tees.
It's all in keeping with the idea that golf should be fun. And, who thinks it'd be any fun to play with Tiger? Even when he was great, he didn't seem to be enjoying himself all that much.
But, ladies, where are the Rickie Fowler votes???
