Chip & Putt golf dress

With simple lines and a price under $50, Chip & Putt’s Natural Endurance shift by Sandra Mathis jumped off the rack at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January and begged, "Try me on."

The combination of stretch and easy fit frees the golf swing like no combination of separates possibly could, and it fits women (even with curves) sizes 4 to 18 in S through XXL options. (Hint: If you’re between sizes, order the smaller one, because Sandra has curves and makes her clothes to fit women who do.)

The above-knee dress -- available in fabrics including a schoolgirl plaid and a trophical print -- is missing only a coordinating undie-short to wear beneath it. So just be careful how you read those putts.

$46 online.

golf dresses

I love golf dresses - comfortable, attractive, move with you. I no longer have to worry about my shirt rising out of my skort. I would never buy one without the undershorts --- it just doesn't make sense! I feel the same way about ones without pockets...hopefully the golf dress trend will start appealing to more golfers and the manufacturers will follow suit...

Golf dresses

Tail has made a cute one in the past (but you have to buy the undershorts separately). The recent ones from Nike and Cutter & Buck look like waitress uniforms -- down to the pockets on the hips! The resistance we hear from customers is that there aren't enough pockets, that putting balls or anything else in pockets that do exist makes for unattractive protrusions, and that they're just not cute. That said, I love the color one from Chip & Putt, but it looks kind of formal in the photo. We'll have to check it out.

I love my golf dresses - the manufacturers have been slow to get on this trend and the first ones didn't have pockets which made it tough to play quickly and away from your bag. I wouldn't buy one without the undershorts - it just doesn't make sense. Hopefully, Susan's next line will include matching undershorts.
